This is my go to place for whenever I crave sushi. If you enjoy top notch sushi, sashimi and good service I highly recommend checking this place out. It's a quaint restaurant I frequent regularly so much so that the waitstaff know my order, I usually have the same order of miso soup, green salad, salmon sashimi and spicy salmon rolls.
The miso soup and green salad are good, pretty generic and comparable to those I've been served in other Japanese restaurants.
The salmon sashimi are sliced very thick, very tender and taste amazing. The spicy salmon rolls are my favourite because they are filled with actual peices of fresh salmon; unlike other restaurants that add so much tempura that there is not much salmon in each peice sushi. Also Hinote's spicy salmon rolls are actually "spicy ", unlike so many other places that claim to serve "spicy " salmon rolls.
Overall I've never encountered a negative experience dining in or taking out at Hinote, I recommend booking reservations beforehand as it is a small restaurant and it can get busy quick and you never wait for your table if you make a reservation ahead of time. Also, don't forget to try their signature cinnamon tea that their waitstaff offer at the end of your meal which tastes great ! -

"assorted sushi" means 6 pieces of ngiri. We were hoping for the rolls or Maki - it was never specified. 2 stars because they swapped it out with the dynamite roll.
The tempura crumbs were so stale, didn't taste good at all. The ngiri had way too much wasabi inside. And the miso soup wasn't tasty at all.
They blast the A/C in there too. -

Been to this place a few times now, but the experience has been on a decline. The first time we visited almost a year ago, food was delicious! The latest one last week not so much.
The place is kinda old and run down, menus are super old and dirty and the restaurant smells musty. I really hope all hygiene standards are being maintained, although we have never been sick from the food yet.
The miso soup is always good. Vegetable tempura is misleading as it's only sweet potato tempura. The tofu is decent.
For my main, the chicken teriyaki was a little over cooked, the chicken was a bit chewy. The salad is good, however their dressing not as good as it used to be. The sushi was spicy veggie but it was more of fermented veggies than spicy ones. Service is ok, it was hard to flag them down , even though the restaurant was pretty empty at 530 on a Wednesday.
Not a bad place but not the best either. -

We wanted a quick bite before the basketball game and my husband had heard good things about this place. I was hesitant after reading the reviews but kept an open mind.
The place was crowded and had people wIting outside. Some tables were reserved. We were told we would have a 15-20 minute wait but we were seated in 5 minutes. It took the server a while to come to us (it was very busy) but we waved her over and mentioned we were in a rush. She took our order and could not give an estimated time that we would get our food.
The food arrived within around 12-15 minutes. Hubby really enjoyed his cod and spicy sushi. I had the tempura yam rolls. They were huge in size and fell apart as it took a few bites to finish one....I'm sure the assembly wasn't perfect because we rushed them. It tasted great though. I know tempura is not gluten free but I was craving yam rolls. They did give me organic gluten free soy sauce (tamari).
We completed our meal and they brought us a delicious hot ginger cinnamon tea to end. Service was friendly and we were out in plenty of time to get to the game. -

Was in the area for work so stopped by for a quick lunch.
This restaurant is owned by Koreans, not Japanese.
Spicy Salmon Handroll ($6.95)
I was sightly disappointed with this since based on the pix I saw people post for this handroll, it was a lot larger than what I got. I will say though it was tasty and I loved how there was a lot of spicy salmon and I swear there was so little rice - I mean the first top part was literally all protein and I didn't taste the rice until mid way.
Spicy Salmon roll ($7.95, 6 pieces)
Again, the pictures I saw looked like it had more spicy salmon than what I got. Regardless it tasted good. Loved the protein and rice ratio though - there was so little rice in the roll which was perfect to my liking.
Hamachi onion roll ($8.95, 6 pieces)
I think this was supposed to be like negi-toro but with hamachi instead. If it was, the fish wasn't really mashed up and mixed in with the green onions but more so just sliced up. Tasted ok.
